Krasovskii Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Phys.-Math. sciences Subbotin Yurii Nikolaevich passed away on August 15, 2021, at the age of 85. Yuri Nikolaevich was an outstanding world-class specialist in approximation theory, computational mathematics, the theory of splines, wavelets, and their applications, the author of more than 200 scientific papers.
